Mt Nebo Stake, Payson Utah 2015 Pow Wow
The Mt Nebo Stake in Payson Utah is offering a free merit badge Pow-wow on August 13 & 27, 2015. Scouts can earn three merit badges. For more information click here.
Aviation Merit Badge at Heber Airport
Earlier today I took my scout to the Heber Valley Airport where the Commemorative Air Force Utah Wing offers an Aviation Merit Badge class. This class was very well done and I would highly advise any scout wishing to get the Aviation Merit badge to get it from here. The cost is $10 per scout for the class, or $20 per scout if you want to spend the night and camp out near the air field. For more information click here.

Building a Fire Starting Kit for Scouts
Over the weekend I put together and documented my version of a Fire Starting Kit for scouts that fits in an Altoids can, weighs 125 grams (~4.45 ounces), and costs about $10.00 plus the cost of the Altoids. You can read the full document in my scout supplies section here.

Cottonwood Heights Merit Badge Classes
The Cottonwood Heights Parks and Recreation Service Area is offering three merit badge classes. Classes cost around $10-15 a piece. For more information click here.
Brighton Ski Resort Snow Sports Merit Badge Assessment
We have just started a new Merit Badge program. The Scouts need to be good, strong, intermediate skiers or boarders and understand the merit badge pamphlet and workbook BEFORE they come to the assessment.
Assessment classes are held on Thursday nights and Saturday afternoon by appointment only.

Lehi Police Department Merit Badge Classes 2015
The Lehi Police Department is pleased to announce the 2015 schedule for Boy Scouts of America Merit Badge classes.
All classes begin at 9:00 a.m. and are held at the Police Station, 580 West State. Bring your own Merit Badge Card to all classes.
Limited seating is available. Reservations must be made by calling the Police Department at 385-201-1005. Additional merit badge classes may be requested and scheduled with a 25 Scout minimum. Amount of time required depends on the merit badges.

BYU Fall 2015 Merit Badge Pow-Wow
The BYU Merit Badge PowWow has been run for more than 57 years and is one of the largest Boy Scout PowWows in the United States. It is held on the beautiful campus of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

Commemorative Air Force - Utah Wing Aviation Merit Badge Class
The Utah CAF offers a Boy Scouts Merit Badge class on aviation. These classes are taught by aviators in our museum which gives the boys a more hands-on presentation of the Boy Scout material. The charge is only $20 per boy which will include a handout of the material. Some troops have camped out next to the hanger on the airport grounds and we allow them access to the museum for the bathrooms at night. The program is approved by the Boy Scouts. Microsoft Store at City Creek Merit Badge Classes
The Microsoft Store at City Creek in Salt Lake City is offering three merit badge classes; Digital Technology, Movie Making, Photography. The class is scheduled per troop and you need 5-7 scouts for them to hold the class. The classes are free and seem like a great option for scouts. They told me that they have XBoxes setup for the scouts to play after the classes are over. For more information call: 801-869-9770
Clark Planetarium Astronomy Merit Badge Classes

Davis Applied Technology College Pow Wow
The Davis Applied Technology College and the Boy Scouts Trapper Trails Council are giving scout
troops, teams and crews an opportunity to earn one or two merit badges
in just two days at the DATC PowWow. The PowWow offers Scoutmasters: 18
merit badges, breakfast, restrooms, vending machines/bookstore for
snacks and an overnight campout. The pow wow will be held April 24-25, 2015.
The cost is $15/merit badge for the boy and $5 per adult to cover costs of food and supplies. Additionally, it is $5 for the camp out for each scout. For more information please go here.
